Mick’s first entry into writing and producing music for film came when he was asked to come up with the theme song for a Peter Saville movie, ‘Secrets’. He then wrote the soundtrack for ‘Spaceplace’ (made by the Danish director, Annie Mygind, also featured tracks by Pink Floyd). Mick also collaborated with the avant-garde composer Ron Geesin on a film called ‘The Girl In The Picture’, and with the writer Allen Pemburton on ‘Journeys Of The Mind’, based in out of body experiences. With commissions from the BBC, Channel 4, Central and other independent production companies, TV credits include music for Dispatches, Ecowatch and Fragile Earth.
Mick’s perceptive lyrics and musical strength can cater for a wide range of dramatic moods, and his hands-on working experience in media has prepared him to make the transition to feature films.
‘I write in pictorial imagery. Once the picture in the mind is clear, all else follows.’
